Music, in one form or
another, has always been a part of my life. From the piano and the flute as a
child, a few years of electric guitar in a punk rock band (!), and then the
acoustic guitar for most of my adult life, the bagpipe is a recent adventure
that has taken over my life. Thanks to my husband Rick’s desire and
motivation to learn to play the pipes, I’ve been carried along and discovered
a new passion in life! I’ve always listened to Celtic music in general and
that led me into bluegrass music where I met my husband. We have spent many
years involved in the Oregon and NW Bluegrass music world and now find our
summers full with Highland Games and bluegrass festivals. In my day to day life, I’ve
worked at the Oregon Department of Transportation for over 10 years in
transportation engineering, although my schooling was in the geosciences. I
am looking forward to spending many years playing with the band and growing
as a piper. |
